There is no authority for the statement in
the newspaper reports quoted that an increase in the
number of Mui Tsai Inspectors is at present in
contemplation.

As reported in my despatch No.525 of 15th
October, 1934, I am appointing a strong unofficial
Committee to enquire into certain aspects of the Mui
Tsai system, and I propose to take the opportunity
of bringing the enclosures to your despatch now under
acknowledgment to its notice and to ask its opinion on
the questions there raised.
